PNP spokesman Senior Superintendent Nicanor Bartolome made this claim in response to a survey result showing that majority of the policemen based in Metro Manila were dissastisfied with the present PNP leadership.
In a handwritten press statement hastily released yesterday, Bartolome said the survey is another demolition job against the PNP chief.
"The paper being circulated regarding the alleged PNP survey is another effort to undermine the leadership of Director General Panfilo Lacson," Bartolome said.
The survey, taken from Dec. 10 to 17 by a civilian group financed by concerned police officers calling themselves Reform PNP Movement, showed that 84 percent of the 400 Metro Manila-based policemen, believe Lacsons leadership is causing demoralization in the entire PNP while 10 percent believed otherwise.
Also the survey said, 60 percent of Metro Manila policemen-respondents want President Estrada to resign as they believe that the accusations against him are all true.
"We have neither commissioned nor authorized anyone to conduct such a survey among PNP personnel in Metro Manila," Barolome, in defending Lacson, said. Jaime Laude
