BACOLOD CITY Ten freshmen of the University of St. La Salle (USLS) here have filed a hazing complaint against nine officers of the Reserved Officers Training Course (ROTC).
However, the USLS administration has opted to remain silent on alleged hazing activities in the school.
Accused of hazing were ROTC cadets John Marc Sadiasa, Joemar Manalo, Hermelo Tongson, John Paul Canada, Victorino Sales, Rolen Guotana, Joemel Bertolano, Daniel John de la Paz and Oddesa Lozada.
In a letter of complaint to USLS president Gus Bocquer, a copy of which was furnished the media, the victims parents alleged that the senior ROTC officers punched their children on the abdomen, made them roll naked on a dirty bathroom floor, and struck them on the nape or head with a two-inch hardbound logbook.
The parents added that their children were also allegedly forced to chew rice, chicken and radish and pass these through each others mouth. Antonieta Lopez
