"BOC Commissioner (Renato) Ampil is not aware yet of the move but this representation, including Reps. Enrico Echeverri (Caloocan), Mike Defensor (Quezon City), and Ricky Sandoval (Navotas), will soon file a resolution seeking to investigate technical smuggling at Subic," Gunigundo told Customs beat reporters at the induction of new officers of the Customs Tri-Media Association (CTMA) at the National Press Cub Tuesday night.
The solon said the resolution, to be filed with the House committee on good government chaired by Cagayan Rep. Edgar Lara, will seek to compel the BOC and the SMBA to answer for the reported irregularities at the special economic zone.
"We are putting to task the BOC because it is its responsibility to collect the appropriate duties and taxes, and the SBMA, because it is its responsibility to monitor the entry and exit of these alleged smuggled cars," Gunigundo said.
He said that the resolution will find out if reports of technical smuggling in Subic of used vehicles are true.  Jerry Botial
