Former First Lady Imelda Romualdez-Marcos has asked the Sandiganbayan anew to allow her to travel to the United States in connection with her deposition in the case filed by the estate of Roger Roxas and the Golden Buddha Corp.
Mrs. Marcos, in a two-page motion filed by her lawyer, Gaudencio Palafox, said she received a "notice of videotaped deposition" from the plaintiffs.
The deposition, she said, will be taken either at the law offices of Ward Jones in Honolulu, Hawaii, or of Magnana Catchcart and McCarthy in Los Angeles, California on March 5, 2001.
She said she runs the risk of being cited in contempt if she fails to give her deposition for purposes of preserving her testimony for the trial.
In another development, Mrs. Marcos will file a complaint with the Commission on Human Rights on Thursday against former Presidents Corazon Aquino and Fidel Ramos, President Estrada and former and incumbent officials of the Presidential Commission on Good Government for alleged human rights violations against the Marcoses, her spokesperson, Cherry Cobarrubias, said.
