ALAMINOS, Laguna — Police have arrested one of the four men who allegedly dragged away and took turns raping a housewife here Sunday night.

Police Senior Inspector Gerardo Ulanday, identified the suspect as Denis Katigbak, 25, of Barangay San Gregorio this town. He did not resist arrest but denied involvement in the case.

Ulanday said a police team has been organized to track down the three other suspects who had reportedly threatened to harm the victim’s family if the case is not dropped.

The three other suspects were identified as Alex Marasigan, Alimario Avila, and Roberto Cueto, all of Barangay San Gregorio.

A T-shirt and underwear believed to be owned by Cueto was recovered by the police at the crime scene.

The 25-year-old victim told police investigators that the suspects barged into their house while her husband and three children were sleeping in their room at about 11 p.m. Sunday.

The suspects gagged her, dragged her to a dark portion of their backyard and then took turns raping her.

She said that the suspects were among her husband’s companions in a drinking spree hours earlier at their house. — Rene Alviar
