Solon hurt, 3 killed in road accident

Three persons were killed while Cagayan Rep. Juan "Jackie" Enrile Jr. was slightly injured when a Toyota Land Cruiser bearing the solon figured in a collision with a Tamaraw FX in Roxas, Isabela Friday afternoon.
Reports reaching Camp Crame identified the dead as Olimpia and Emerson both surnamed Marquez, and Danny Guillermo, all passengers of the Tamaraw FX.
Enrile, son and namesake of Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, suffered slight injuries. He was taken to the Saint Paul Hospital in Tuguegarao for treatment.
Reports said the incident happened at around 2 p.m. Friday, along the National Road, Barangay San Pedro, Roxas, Isabela.
Enriles Land Cruiser bearing a congressional plate and driven by Danny Sallano was traveling north when it avoided a motorcycle which suddenly crossed the national highway.
Reports said as the Land Cruiser swerved to the left portion of the highway, it collided with the southbound Tamaraw FX with license plate UCS-790 driven by one Alexander Guillermo, killing its three passengers on the spot. - Jaime Laude
