Cops nab 16 members of CL robbery gang

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police believe they have busted a notorious robbery hold-up gang with the arrest of its 16 members during simultaneous raids at the syndicate’s supposed safehouses in Pampanga and Bataan, Monday.

The suspects were apprehended in Mariveles and Dinalupihan towns in Bataan and Magalang, Pampanga, following a week-long surveillance by undercover police and military men.

Those arrested in Bataan were Allan Cayanan, Jessie Hizon, Armando Hizon, David Cayanan, Tabak Aguilar, Jhong-Jhong Hizon, Arnel Cayanan, Jojo Bernardo, Rigor de la Cruz and Bobbit Tamayo.

Police tagged the suspects as responsible for the series of robbery hold-ups of gasoline stations, burger chains and restaurants in Bataan and Pampanga.

The raiding team recovered two stolen motorcycles during follow-up operations in nearby Bulacan province. The suspects were brought to the Bataan police office for further investigation while robbery charges had been filed in court against the suspects.

Arrested in Pampanga were Maximiano Hizon, 25, Ernesto Hizon, 43; Jesus Hizon, 34; Jerry Hizon, 21; Nestor Hizon, 38; Alberto Cruz, 39, and Diego Vasquez , 19, all of Barangay San Agustin, Magalang town.— Ric Sapnu
