The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - International rhythm and blues singer Alicia Keys went to Villamor Air Base on Monday a day after arriving in the Philippines for her second concert in the country.

The Grammy winner, who popularized the hits 'If I Ain't Got You,' 'Empire State of Mind' and 'Girl on Fire' went to Pasay City to visit evacuees affected by typhoon Yolanda. The government has been flying evacuees from Tacloban City to Villamor Air Base which serves as a temporary center for the victims.

In a series of photos posted by the Philippine Information Agency on its social media accounts, the singer is seen giving books and coloring materials to children and talking to officials in the area.

Keys earlier tweeted this message days after the typhoon destroyed Visayas:

She is set to perform tonight at the Mall of Asia Arena.
