CINEMALAYA 2014: Nova Villa reunites with Freddie Webb in '1st Ko Si 3rd'

MANILA, Philippines- A not the usual  Nova Villa will be seen on the Cinemalaya 2014 entry “1st Ko Si 3rd.”

We have always seen Nova Villa on TV shows making our stomach ache with her comic antics and punchlines, but this time, we'll see the serious and soft side of her as she portrays a woman who meets her first love again at the age of 65.

Besides being her first independent film, what makes this film  doubly special is that she reunites with her long-time on-screen partner Freddie Webb.

In an interview, Nova Villa said that nothing has changed with her leading man, Freddie, “Ganun pa rin siya. Alam mo ang tao, ang nagbabago lang yung hitsura pero ang puso, ang isip, yun pa rin. Loving pa rin. Kalog. Ganyan siya,” she said.

The other cast members  of “1st Ko Si 3rd” are  Dante Rivero, Ruby Ruiz, Ken Chan, Coleen Burgonia, RJ Agustin, and Lara Morena.

The film's director Real S. Florido had been involved in several Cinemalaya films, but this is his directorial debut for the film festival.

Florido was a c-writer for the 2006 Cinemalaya film “Saan Nagtatago si Happiness?,” and was an assistant director for “ICU bed # 7” which was one of the nine finalists in the 2005 Cinemalaya.

The Cinemalaya Film Festival runs from August 1 to 10.
