‘Pororo the Racing Adventure’ teaches kids on chasing their dreams

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – A movie that will teach you to never give up on your dreams, this is what “Pororo: The Racing Adventure” is about.

Its characters, based on a cartoon series, were brought to the big screen, letting fans experience seeing Pororo and his friends Crong, Eddy, Poby and Loopy in 3D.

Just like what’s usually seen on TV, the film started with Pororo and his friends watching a racing game on television. They all have dreamt of being “sleigh champions” someday, just like their idols in the White Tiger Team.

Accidently while enjoying a sleigh game and Pororo trying out Eddy’s latest sleigh invention, a delivery plane crashes in their place, and there they meet Toto the number one delivery man, who they’ve mistaken as a number one racing champion.

While their plane is being fixed, Toto went along and pretended to be a racing champion who trained Pororo and his friends to become sleigh champions.

After the plane has been fixed, Toto didn’t know that Pororo, Crong, Eddy, Poby and Loopy tagged along with them on their way to Northpia, the place where the sleigh racing championship is being held.

But upon arriving there, Pororo meets the vicious brown bear Fufu, and discovers that Toto is not really a racing champion.

In the verge of giving up, Pororo decided that since they’re already there, he’ll go after his dream of becoming a sleigh racing champion.

The race track challenges and Fufu’s cheating tactics made the race hard for Pororo and his friend Crong to become champions, especially since they don’t have experience in such race.

Also during their head-to-head match with Fufu’s team, Pororo didn’t take advantage of Fufu’s situation and instead helped him survived. Yet in the end, Fufu still chose to cheat on Pororo and Crong.

But in the end, Pororo and Crong, with their will to win and save Northpia from the selfish desires of Fufu, won the race and became sleigh racing champions.

This film may have been created to feed children’s imagination, but it also teaches two important lessons.

First is to never stop dreaming and chasing after your dreams. It may sound impossible to reach, but with determination and with great friends helping you, going after your dreams is never that hard.

Second is to promote play fair. Going after your dreams is one thing, but going after it while cheating is another thing.

You should play fair and never step on others so just you’ll be on top. In the end, these dirty tricks will be the same thing bringing you down.

“Pororo the Racing Adventure” will hit cinemas on Nov. 6.
