Go attends groundbreaking of Antique Super Health Center
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go attended the groundbreaking of a Super Health Center in Sibalom, Antique on Tuesday as part of his efforts to improve the country’s healthcare system and bring public health services closer to the people.
The event was led by officials of the Department of Health and local government, including Antique Gov. Rhodora Cadiao and Vice Gov. Edgar Denosta, Rep. Agapito Antonio Legarda, Sibalom Mayor Gian Carlo Occeña and Vice Mayor Kazy Butiong.
In his speech, Go stressed the importance of providing accessible and quality healthcare to all Filipinos, especially those in rural areas.
“Sa malalayo po na lugar at sa mga fourth class, fifth class at sixth class municipalities na hirap magpagawa ng sariling health facilities, dapat po ay ilapit natin ang serbisyo sa kanila. Unahin po silang bigyan, mga strategic areas, para makatulong sa mga tao dun na kailangang magpagamot,” he said.
The Super Health Center in Sibalom will offer database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray and ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit.
Other available services are oncology centers, physical therapy, rehabilitation center, telemedicine as well as eye, ear, nose and throat service.
The DOH has identified more areas in Antique,where Super Health Centers will be constructed, including Culasi and San Jose de Buenavista, the groundbreaking of which Go also attended.
After the groundbreaking, Go provided assistance to more than a thousand indigents, fire victims and outpatients who attended a medical mission initiated by Denosta.
