WATCH: 'The Little Mermaid' full trailer revealed at Oscars 2023
MANILA, Philippines — Walt Disney Studios today premiered the official full trailer and poster of its first ever live-action remake of 1989 film "The Little Mermaid."
The trailer was revealed as part of the Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood today, as presented onstage by Halle Bailey, who plays the titular role (Ariel) and Melissa McCarthy, who portrays the villain sea witch Ursula.
Completing the major cast as seen in the trailer are Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric and Javier Bardem as Ariel's father King Triton.
"Hamilton" and "Snowpiercer" star Daveed Diggs voices Sebastian the crab, while "Room" and "Good Boys" star Jacob Tremblay lends his voice as Flounder the fish. "Crazy Rich Asians" actress Awkwafina voices Scuttle the seagull.
As seen in the trailer, Ariel sings a new version of the film's hit soundtrack, "Part of Your World."
