There’s a new storm in town. And it’s called the Chevrolet Colorado High Country Storm.
Chevrolet’s new Colorado pickup truck variant was initially only available in other regional markets, but is now offered locally by Philippine Chevrolet distributor and importer, The Covenant Car Company Inc. This new pickup truck is designed for Filipinos looking for that rare combination of a legitimate 4x4 with sporty and edgy styling, the comfort and sophistication of a luxury SUV, and top-notch safety and convenience features.
Styled To Kick Up A Storm
The Colorado High Country Storm sports new exterior elements fashioned by Chevrolet’s global design team to reflect the pickup truck’s sportiness, power, and ruggedness. The vehicle utilizes numerous black accents to add an energetic contrast to the body’s distinctive silhouette, most notably with the black rear sport bar outlining the truck bed, on the black anthracite rear bumper, black tailgate and door handles, black rearview mirrors, and black 18-inch alloy wheels. Black hood and body decals add a final touch.
Bowtie Power
The new Colorado High Country Storm offers best-in-class numbers for horsepower and torque, thanks to a 2.8 L four-cylinder Duramax turbodiesel engine producing 200 horses and 500 Nm. The High Country Storm can haul one ton and can tow up to 3.5 tons. It rides high and boasts a class-leading 800mm water-wading capability.
Luxuriously Refined Cabin
An elegant interior awaits the occupants of the High Country Storm. The seats, dash, and bits of trim, are skillfully crafted from premium, high-grade materials, giving users a luxurious driving experience. And a six-way electronically adjustable driver’s seat ensures that you find the perfect driving position.
The refinement continues with a polished, comfortable ride. The Colorado has been engineered with a variety of locales and road conditions in mind, led by an experienced team of GM engineers from Brazil, Thailand, and Australia. The same suspension improvements from the latest Colorado are also found in the Colorado High Country Storm, which include improved damper technology and hardware upgrades, and revised spring rates to provide more comfort and control.
It also features updated engine, transmission, and body mounts which contribute to a more composed ride. Likewise, the pickup’s modern shift-on-the-fly 4WD system gives drivers the capability of adjusting the ride type at the push of the button, depending on the terrain they find themselves on. Paired with a responsive Electric Power Steering (EPS) system, drivers are sure to have increased control leading to a more confident and comfortable drive.
Another feature which contributes to the Colorado High Country Storm’s premium value is its reduced NVH levels inside the cabin. The pickup is eight percent quieter on the road than previous models thanks to its newly designed door, window and windshield seals; front door glass that is 10-percent thicker; and aerodynamic headlamp design.
Advanced Connectivity
The new High Country Storm features an eight-inch multi-function touchscreen head unit equipped with the latest Chevrolet MyLink Infotainment system with multiple smartphone OS compatibility, multimedia functionality, Bluetooth connectivity, SIRI Eyes Free and voice recognition software. The current MyLink Infotainment system is also compatible with Apple CarPlay, which allows you to make calls, read, write, and send text messages, listen to music, and use other applications on your iPhone while being safe and keeping both hands on the wheel. The Colorado is the first truck in its category to offer Apple CarPlay.
Cutting-Edge Safety
The Colorado High Country Storm comes with a host of active and safety features, including ABS, Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), and dual airbags.
It also features Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Traction Control System, Hill Start Assist, Hill descent Control, Trailer Sway Control, Electronic Stability Control, and front and rear parking assist, rear camera with dynamic guidelines.
Additionally, it has a remote engine start function that is useful during hot weather. Through this function, the engine can be started using the key fob, allowing the cabin to be cooled sufficiently before getting inside the vehicle. Other features include remote window activation and front windows that automatically drop a fraction to facilitate door closing.
Chevy Tough-Truck Heritage
The Chevrolet Colorado High Country Storm comes with a special five-year warranty coverage: three-year bumper to bumper warranty plus a two-year warranty on the Power Train or 100,000 kilometer, whichever comes first. Chevrolet owners are automatically enrolled in the 24/7 Chevrolet Emergency Roadside Support for three years, with an option to renew on the fourth year of ownership.
The Chevrolet Colorado High Country Storm is available in eight exterior colors: Orange Crush, Blue Me Away Metallic, Pull Me Over Red, Black Meet Kettle Metallic, Summit White, Satin Steel Grey Metallic, and Dark Shadow Metallic.
