Motoring

Up Close and Personal with the Godzilla

- Raymond Young -
The superlative of high performance Japanese motoring has just graced local shores. I am talking about the Nissan Skyline, which was brought in by the country’s top tuning firm, Auto Plus, which also happens to be the country’s exclusive distributor of Motul lubricants.

Mind you, this is not your typical, run-of-the-mill Skyline. This blazing red unit (aptly called Godzilla) just happens to be the real deal. And by real deal I mean that this is an off-duty, true blue racecar piloted by M. Kageyama and R. Lyons in the 2003 JGTC (Japan Grand Touring Car) under the GT 500 class. The presence of this renowned Japanese icon is a way of thanking Motul’s loyal clients and patrons. "Bringing in this GT car is our way of thanking and giving something back to all Motul’s loyal clients and patrons," Auto Plus Managing Partner Carlos Gono said in a statement.

The presence of the Motul-Pitwork Nissan Skyline GT 500 is more than enough to introduce the unblemished performance of Motul in the lubricants department. Unlike other oil firms, which sell oil as a by-product of their operations, Motul has been in the lubricants industry for a century and a half, way before fossil fuels were discovered and before the first car rolled out. A default pioneer in this department, Motul has made tremendous progress in this field, being the first to introduce multigrade oil in the 50s, the first to introduce semi-synthetic oil in the 60s, and the first to introduce 100 percent synthetic oil in the 70s. The 21st century will be another milestone for Motul as it presents "Double Ester Technology" in the Motul 300V line of oil products. These plethora of technologies contained in one unique motor oil really works, with the race tracks of the world as its testing ground, and is also used in the same race car that we saw with our own very eyes.

Motul 300V with double ester technology is made up of complex esters of positively and negatively charged polymer molecules that are electrically absorbed into the metal surface and stay there, providing a strong film of protection even after the engine has stopped running. It is also made up of high molecular strength ester polymer compounds designed to withstand constant shearing of oil, thereby maintaining exact viscosity even at extreme high engine temperatures and extended high engine speed "operation cycles. In layman’s terms, using Motul 300V in your car’s engine returns consistent oil pressure, better engine response and lower oil temperature, which translates to a noticeable improvement in engine performance; higher horsepower output and ensures engine durability. Imagine an oil tailor fitted to each and every engine; this is what exactly Motul does.

Aside from 300V, Motul has a complete line-up of lubricants for different applications, like the CRDi (Common Rail Direct Injection) Diesel oil which is engineered for specific use for the new generation of diesel engines. Likewise, they also have specific BMW valvetronic engines, as well as 100% synthetic brake fluid with RBF 600 rating. Along with the impressive line up of Motul lubricants also comes the Motul Oil Service Official logo. Motorists who will have their cars serviced as shops with the Motul Oil Service logo will be assured of high quality Motul oil products and professional service from well-trained technicians.

Indeed, any true blue car enthusiast will not pass the opportunity to be up close and personal with this Japanese national treasure. Also, anyone wanting more power and protection from their car’s engine need not to look further as Motul will answer all your car’s lubrication needs.
