Quezon City host ng C40 Cities Regional Academy sa Southeast Asia

MANILA, Philippines — Takdang mag-host ang Quezon City sa isasagawang C40 Cities Regional Academy sa Southeast Asia bilang isa sa mga nangungunang lungsod na katulong sa pagresolba sa climate crisis sa Southeast Asia.

Sa Agosto, ang mga city officials, policymakers, at municipal delegates mula Jakarta, Indonesia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Dares Salaam, Tanzania; Johannesburg, South Africa; Accra, Ghana; at QC ay magsasama-sama para talakayin ang Inclusive Climate Action (ICA) at mga tampok  na paraan kung paano lutasin ang climate crisis.

Ang academy ay magsisilbing lugar din para sa mga city representatives na maibahagi ang mga karanasan, matalakay at magtulungan ang bawat isa sa ipatutupad na mga polisiya para dito.

We are thrilled to share our city’s success stories, case studies, and best practices in implementing inclusive climate action with other academy participants. QC is also looking forward to learning about other cities’ experiences and programs that we can adapt and initiate in our barangays,” pahayag ni QC Mayor Joy Belmonte.

This academy embodies the spirit of collaboration and underscores the urgency of empowering our cities to adapt and thrive in the face of climate challenges - without leaving anyone behind. By hosting the C40’s Southeast Asia UCAP CAI Programme’s Regional Academy, Quezon City will provide a pivotal platform for global cities to unite, exchange insights, and develop practical solutions for their respective contexts. Together, cities can accelerate the implementation of inclusive climate action and advance climate justice for all,” sabi naman ni C40 Cities Regional Director for East, Southeast Asia, and Oceania Milag San Jose-Ballesteros.

Para maitampok ang QC’s climate programs, bibisita ang mga delegado sa iba’t ibang ICA-related initiatives, magbibigay ng mga halimbawa at kaalaman para sa pagpapatupad ng katulad na hakbang sa kani-kanilang lungsod.
