MANILA, Philippines — Pinangunahan ni Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatcha­lian ang pamamahagi ng electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards sa bagong batch ng beneficiaries sa unang­ scale-up pilot implementation ng ‘Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program’ (FSP) sa Delpan, Tondo, Manila.

Ang EBT cards ay may laman na  P3,000 food credits na maaa­ring maipambili ng mga beneficiaries ng  nutritious food items sa Kadiwa ng Pa­ngulo.

Kasama ni Sec. Gatchalian sa aktibidad ang World Food Programme (WFP) Philippine Country Director, ad-interim, Dipayan Bhattacharyya; WFP Head of Programme Giorgi Dolidze; WFP Project Manager for Walang Gutom 2027 Takero Suzuki; DSWD Undersecretary for Innovations Eduardo Punay; DSWD Assistant Secretary Baldr Bringas; Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-National Capital Region Assistant Regional Director Atty. Olivia Obrero Samson;  DOLE Field Office -Manila Director Atty. Joel Petaca; at  Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) representative Alyssa Taroy.

Ang FSP ay isa sa priority program ng Marcos administration na layong solu­syunan ang  food insecurity sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay sa mga   bene­ficiaries na maka access sa monetary-based assistance at nutrition education upang maturuan kung paano maghanda ng ligtas at masustansyang pagkain para sa pamilya.

Malaking tulong din ito upang higit na ma­ging productive citizens sa pamamagitan ng skills training at pakikiisa sa government-organized job fairs.
