Makati courts naka-lockdown dahil sa COVID

MANILA, Philippines — Isinailalim sa lockdown ang Halls of Justice ng Makati City simula kahapon (Hunyo 25) hanggang sa Hulyo 8, 2020 matapos magpositibo sa isinagawang rapid test ang isa sa court employee.

Batay ito sa naging kautusan ng executive judges ng Regional Trial Court (RTC) at Metropolitan Trial Court (MeTC) na may petsang Hunyo 24, 2020.

Sa Memorandum na inisyu ni Makati RTC Executive Judge Elmo Alameda at ni  Makati Metropolitan Trial Court Judge Jackie Crisologo Saguisag, nagbigay sila ng direktiba na ‘physically close all the courts’ alinsunod na rin sa naging kautusan ng Office of the Court Administrator.

Sa direktiba, nakasaad na matapos makipag-ugnayan kay Supreme Court  Administrator Jose Midas Marquez, pinayagan nito ang  pakiusap na kailangang mag-self quarantine ang lahat ng huwes at personnel ng Makati RTCs, MetCs at ang Offices of the Clerk of Court (OCCs) sa loob ng 14 na araw simula kahapon, Hunyo 25, 2020 hanggang sa Hulyo 8, 2020.

“This is a necessary safety measure considering that a court employee who underwent rapid testing has tested positive for the presence of SARS-COV-2 antibody (Covid-19 IgM), and the employee has also been reported as a Person Under Investigation (PUI),” saad pa sa kautusan.

“Meantime, the courts concerned are advised to conduct contact tracing. Should anyone develop symptoms, please report to your respective barangay health officer and inform the undersigned immediately,” saad pa sa memo.

Gayunman, kahit na naka-lockdown ang mga korte at offices of clerk of courts, patuloy pa rin ang operasyon ng korte. Maaring makontak sa hotline numbers at judiciary emails ang korte.

Maaari rin isagawa ang hearings sa pamamagitan ng video conference at tumanggap ng pleadings sa pamamagitan ng electronic filings, alinsunod sa umiiral na circular na ipinalabas ng Korte Suprema.
