P600 milyong laan ng Quezon City -LGU para sa expanded financial assistance program
MANILA, Philippines — Naglaan ang Quezon City government ng P600 milyong pondo mula sa P2.8-billion supplemental budget para ngayong taong 2020 upang higit na mapadami ang makikinabang sa ‘Kalingang QC’ financial assistance program sa lahat ng sektor sa lungsod.
“We saw the pressing need to expand the financial aid program after many ambulant and unregistered vendors were discovered during the first wave,” pahayag ni QC Mayor Joy Belmonte.
Dahil sa pinalawak na coverage ng naturang programa, maging ang mga nagbebenta ng dry goods at cellular phone accessories ay kasama sa nabiyayaan ng P2,000 financial assistance mula sa lokal na pamahalaan.
Ang expanded program ay nagkakaloob din ng ayuda sa mga solo parents, persons with disability (PWDs) at senior citizens na apektado ng umiiral na COVID- 19 pandemic.
“We want to make sure that all vulnerable sectors will be covered so we allotted part of our supplemental fund for them,” sabi pa ni Belmonte.
Una nang naglaan ang QC government ng P200 million para sa 100,000 QC residents, drivers ng public utility jeeps, tricycles, pedicabs, taxis, Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS), at UV Express, market vendors, at iba pang daily wage earners na apektado ng ECQ.
