SMC bumili ng PPEs para sa mga medical frontliners

MANILA, Philippines  — Bibilhin ng San Miguel Corporation (SMC) ang unang 10,000 sets ng personal protective equipment (PPE) mula sa isang local garment manufacturer bilang bahagi ng kanilang P500 million fund para protektahan ang mga medical frontliners na lumalaban sa COVID-19.

Ang nasabing PPEs ay nakuha ng SMC mula sa mga member companies ng Confederation of Wearable Expor­ters of the Philippines (CONWEP) sa pamamagitan ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

“We thank the local manufacturers for heeding the call to produce PPEsf or our hardworking medical frontliners, and the DTI for linking up those who need to buy these life-saving equipment and local companies that have the capability to produce them,” wika ni SMC president at chief operating officer Ramon S. Ang.

Sinabi ng PGH Hospital Infection Control Unit (HICU) na nakapasa ang PPE prototype sa kanilang istriktong requirements.

Sisimulan ng mga garment factories ng CONWEP-member companies ang paggawa ng mga PPEs sa inaasahang pagdating ng mga raw materials ngayong araw.

Idinagdag ng SMC top official na ang pagkuha sa mga local producers ang magbibigay sa mga kompanya ng pagkakataong makapagsimula muli ng kanilang manufactu­ring capacities at makapabigay ng trabaho sa kanilang mga kawani na apektado ng Enhanced Community Quaratine (ECQ) sa Luzon para mapigilan ang pagkalat ng virus.
