MANILA, Philippines — Pormal nang kinasuhan kahapon ni Philippine Drug Enforcerment Agency (PDEA) si Brgy. Captain Alvin Mañalac ng Brgy. Tinajeros, Malabon City  sa  Office of the Ombudsman na may kinalaman sa pagkakadiskubre ng isang drug  den sa kanyang barangay noong nagdaang buwan.

“Failure of Mr. Mañalac, as barangay chairman to identify pushers and users in his barangay prior to the search warrant implementation constitutes an act of being a protector or coddler,” ayon kay PDEA regional director   for National Capital Region (NCR) Ismael Fajardo.

Nahaharap si Mañalac sa paglabag sa Republic Act 9165 o ang  Comprehensive Dangerous Acts of 2002 gayundin sa paglabag sa Article 171 (falsification by public officer, employee or notary) ng Revised Penal Code; gross negligence at dereliction of duty sa ilalim ng Section 60 ng  Republic Act 7160 (Local Government Code of 1991), gross neglect of duty, grave misconduct at conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.
