DFA opens more passport application slots

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will start processing passport applications every Saturday at its Office of Consular Affairs in Aseana Business Park in Parañaque.

The DFA said it decided to open its Aseana office on Saturdays to meet the huge demand for passports that has hounded the agency in the past year.

The Saturday operations of the Aseana office will start on Feb. 10, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Everyone is encouraged to make an appointment via the DFA’s online appointment system,” said the agency. “Strictly no walk-in applicants shall be entertained.”

The DFA said no courtesy lane facility will be made available during Saturday operations at Aseana.

“Non-passport services and courtesy lane facilities shall continue to be offered at all mall-based DFA regional and satellite offices every Saturday,” the DFA said.
