MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese man was killed in an ambush by at least five motorcycle-riding assailants in Pasay City at dawn yesterday.

Police identified the fatality as Zhizhu Wu, of Binondo, Manila.

Initial investigation showed that Wu was in a white Toyota Previa (ZPB-297) at the corner of EDSA Extension and Roxas Boulevard when the suspects opened fire.

Bystanders rushed Wu to the San Juan De Dios Hospital where he was declared dead from gunshots to the head and body.

Police said the victim’s companion, whose identity was not known, got off the car prior to the attack.

Authorities said they have yet to establish the motive for the killing.

Probers said they were checking closed-circuit television camera footage in the area for the possible identification of the gunmen.
