MANILA, Philippines - At least three suspects were shot dead in separate anti-drug raids in Caloocan and Navotas in the past two days.
Alleged drug pusher and gunrunner Ramil Enriquez was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers who raided a house in Barangay Daang Hari, Navotas at around 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Lawmen recovered Enriquez’s .38 caliber revolver and eight sachets of shabu from the scene. They also arrested another man and a woman during the raid.
Eljuan Paule and Danilo Magsael, alleged car thieves and pushers, were killed in another alleged shootout in Caloocan City before dawn yesterday.
A team from the police community precinct 4 staged a drug sting to catch the two men along Sta. Rota street in Barangay 188 at past 2 a.m.
Paule reportedly shot at the police officer who posed as a buyer while Magsael pulled out a hand grenade. The two were killed in the ensuing shootout.
Police recovered a 9mm pistol, a grenade, 11 sachets of shabu and a weighing scale.
Meanwhile, seven individuals were arrested in Caloocan, Navotas, and Malabon for possession of illegal drugs on Sunday: Vessel Tuladan; Jaime Caballero, 47; Nancy Buena, 39; Mary Jane Sorio, 45; Yolanda Busa; and two 17-year-old boys.
