Inter-agency council to implement EDSA traffic scheme changes on Monday

MANILA, Philippines (Philippines News Agency) — The Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT) will implement traffic scheme changes along EDSA beginning 5 a.m. on Monday.

The I-ACT is composed of the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and force multipliers.

In its advisory issued on Sunday, the I-ACT said that the traffic scheme changes in EDSA would be as follows:

  • Closure of U-Turn Slots Southbound near Trinoma after West Avenue to SM City Northbound;
  • Closure/Removal of counterflow at Rockwell Flyover from Rockwell to EDSA; and
  • North Road, EDSA - One way only from EDSA.

"We are appealing to all motorists who will be affected by said changes to bear with us as we effect said traffic plan to address the traffic problem of EDSA," the I-ACT said.
