MANILA, Philippines – A call center agent who went missing on Friday was found dead in the fifth-level basement of a building in Barangay San Lorenzo, Makati City Monday.
Lorenzo Peña, 22, a resident of Sun Valley Subdivision in Parañaque City, was reported to have trespassed in the building and created trouble at around 9 a.m. Friday, according to Regine Deoleste, the daughter of building caretaker Percival Deoleste.
Barangay officials searched the building and found Peña’s identification card in one of the stockrooms. The elder Deoleste called Peña’s father, who was listed as the emergency contact on his identification card.
At around 3:30 p.m. Monday, Peña’s father and village security guards searched the building and found the victim’s body, in the early stages of decomposition, floating in the flooded basement.
Two mobile phones, a wallet, several identification cards and a fan knife were found at the scene.
Investigators are trying to determine what caused Peña’s death and if there was foul play involved.
