‘NBI agents’ snatch fishball vendor

MANILA, Philippines - Four armed men, who introduced themselves as National Bureau of Investigation agents, kidnapped a 50-year-old fishball vendor from his home in Valenzuela City last week.

Dionisio Taller remains missing after the men – carrying handguns and wearing masks and handkerchiefs to cover the lower half of their faces – barged into his house at around 1:30 a.m. on June 7, according to initial reports by the Valenzuela police.

Taller, his wife Rosenda, his sons Ronell and Ronnie, and his granddaughter were sleeping in the same room at the time.

Two of the armed men grabbed Taller and took him outside while the other two took Ronell’s mobile phone and Taller’s money.

Before boarding a dark sport utility vehicle and speeding away, the armed men warned Taller’s family against following them. Taller’s kin were unable to take down the vehicle’s plate number.
