MANILA, Philippines – A Filipino worker who was spared from death row in Saudi Arabia six years ago finally returned home yesterday.
Jonard Langamin, 32, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 from Dammam at past 10 a.m.
A Saudi court sentenced Langamin to death after he was found guilty of killing fellow Filipino worker Robert Mendoza Jr. in 2008.
Langamin was saved from beheading in 2012 after Mendoza’s family signed an affidavit of forgiveness through the intervention of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
