MANILA, Philippines – Three alleged robbers were arrested shortly after they held up bus passengers in Pasay City before dawn yesterday.
Nabbed were Alexander Pring, 35, of Barangay Longos, Malabon; Vince Castro and Agustin Homok, of Caloocan City.
Pasay police chief Senior Superintendent Joel Doria said the suspects pretended to be passengers and boarded the bus at past 2 a.m.
Upon reaching HK Plaza along Roxas Boulevard, Doria said the robbers announced a heist and started divesting the passengers of their cash and valuables.
Police officers patrolling the CCP complex noticed the commotion and responded.
The suspects did not resist arrest, police said.
Aside from the cash and gadgets taken from the victims, police recovered from the suspects a .38-caliber pistol, a hand grenade and bladed weapons.
The suspects will be charged with violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban, robbery and illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
