Indian moneylender shoots debtor

MANILA, Philippines - An Indian moneylender shot at a scavenger who failed to pay his debt in Malabon City Friday afternoon.

Dilip Kumar Sohanlal Chindariya, 42, had an argument with Bobby Buenaventura, 53, along C-4 Road at around 3 p.m. Chindariya drew a .38 caliber revolver and shot at Buenaventura but missed.

Police officers arrested Chindariya and confiscated the handgun, which was unlicensed, as well as four bullets and one used shell.

Buenaventura refused to settle the case involving Chindariya’s attack. He has yet to pay his debt.
