MANILA, Philippines – A trailer truck stalled along Osmeña Highway in Manila yesterday morning just after Gil Puyat (formerly Buendia) Avenue.
According to the Skyway hotline, the stalled truck (RSE-686) – which the Metrobase of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said was carrying steel bars to the Manila’s Port Area – managed to cripple Manila-bound traffic on the elevated highway to as far back as Alabang in Muntinlupa.
According to the Skyway hotline, the stalled truck occupied two lanes of the road. The traffic buildup was made worse by the ongoing construction of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 project in the area.
The flow of traffic returned to normal by noon, after the truck was moved to the side of the road.
