MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court (SC) has appointed lawyer Anna-Li Papa-Gombio as its new deputy clerk of court.
In Memorandum Order 04 issued earlier this week, the high court designated Gombio to the post vacated by Felipa Anama, who was promoted as clerk of court.
The appointment paper was signed by the chairs of the three divisions of the high court – Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno, Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio and Associate Justice Presbitero Velasco Jr.
As deputy clerk of court, Gombio is tasked to promulgate resolutions and decisions of the high tribunal in Anama’s absence.
The position has been vacant since July last year following the appointment of Anama after the retirement of Enriqueta Vidal.
Gombio, a graduate of Ateneo de Manila law School, has been with the SC for over 20 years already.
