MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has formed a committee to ensure better protection and services for Filipino workers abroad, making its offices more responsive to their needs.
Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said the new committee would transform DOLE offices abroad into Centers of Care and Excellence for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
“This initiative affirms our goal of not just to sustain, but bolster our existing efforts. In this way, we can ensure that the protection and promotion of the welfare and interests of Filipinos working abroad is best served,” Baldoz said.
The committee is chaired by Undersecretary for workers welfare and social protection Ciriaco Lagunzad III.
