P.1-M reward up for arrest of MMDA enforcer’s killers
MANILA, Philippines – The city government of Antipolo offered a P100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the killers of a traffic enforcer from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in Quezon City yesterday.
Mayor Junjun Ynares offered the bounty after visiting the wake of Sydney Role at the Our Lady of Peace chapel in the city.
Ynares is coordinating with MMDA Chairman Emerson Carlos for the speedy arrest of the suspects to give justice to Role, a resident of Barangay de la Paz.
The mayor ordered the local police to closely work with the Quezon City Police District for the immediate solution of the case.
Role was manning his post at the corner of Commonwealth and Tandang Sora Avenues when he accosted two men on a motorcycle for going against the flow of traffic.
Police said the back rider of the motorcycle got down and, without a word, shot Role twice in the head.
Role was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center, where he was declared dead on arrival.
