Edu Punay - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – The diocese of Caloocan finally has a new bishop after three years.

Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, who was appointed in October 2015 by Pope Francis, officially assumed his new post at the Cathedral of San Roque on Saturday.

Prior to his appointment, David was a former auxiliary bishop of San Fernando City in Pampanga.

He was ordained as priest on March 12, 1983 at the age of 24. Pope Benedict XVI later appointed him auxiliary bishop of San Fernando and he was ordained bishop in 2006.

David replaced Bishop Deogracias Iñiguez, who resigned in January 2013 due to health reasons.
