Bulgarian nabbed for ATM fraud

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A Bulgarian was caught retrieving a skimming device at an automated teller machine (ATM) in Barangay Sacred Heart, Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Police officers confiscated a skimming device, a memory chip, a mobile phone, a Swiss knife, a backpack and two cloned ATM cards from Dobromir Rusev Iliev, 35, of Malate, Manila, said case investigator Police Officer 2 Jonald Unida of the Kamuning police station.

He said bank personnel have been monitoring the activities of Iliev, who has allegedly used skimming devices to clone ATM cards of those using the terminal.

Iliev is being held at the Kamuning police station while charges of violating the e-commerce law and disobedience to a person in authority are being prepared against him.
