MANILA, Philippines – A suspected drug pusher and gunrunner managed to elude police officers who raided his house on Suha street in Pasay City Sunday afternoon, an official said yesterday.
Pasay Regional Trial Court Judge Raquelen Abary-Vasquez issued a warrant to search Enrico Elisa’s house following reports he kept a cache of firearms there, city police chief Senior Superintendent Joel Doria said.
When the raiding team arrived, Elisa’s daughter alerted him, allowing him to escape, Doria said.
A .38 caliber revolver, .32 caliber pistol and bullets for .38, .32 and .45 caliber handguns were found in the house as well as a sachet said to contain shabu.
Police are preparing to file illegal possession of firearms and illegal drug possession charges against Elisa and his daughter, who will also be charged with obstruction of justice for aiding in her father’s escape, Doria said.
