Stolen trucks found in cop’s warehouse

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Stolen trucks, some of which had been stripped of parts, were discovered in a warehouse in Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig City during a raid before dawn yesterday.

The warehouse on Manuel Luis Quezon street in Purok 4A is allegedly owned by Senior Police Officer 1 Wilson Regala, according to a Southern Police District (SPD) report.

The Taguig police’s anti-car theft unit, led by Senior Inspector Ruther Saquilayan, has launched a manhunt for Regala, who could face charges of car theft for keeping stolen vehicles in his warehouse.

The raiding team was led to the warehouse by the GPS signal of a truck stolen in Sta. Maria, Bulacan on Sunday afternoon. The team was composed of police officers from Taguig and Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

Police officers found the white Mazda truck, with conduction sticker RJ 4445, had been cannibalized.

Several other trucks, stripped of their engines and other parts, were also found in the warehouse.
