MANILA, Philippines - The remains of four overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) killed in a road accident in Saudi Arabia arrived in the country yesterday.
Yolly Peñaranda, Overseas Worker Welfare Administration (OWWA) Repatriation and Assistance officer-in-charge, said the bodies of the OFWs arrived on board Philippine Airlines flight PR 683, ahead of the bodies of nine of their colleagues killed in the same accident.
While she refused to name the OFWs, she said their families were at the airport to claim the bodies.
According to OWWA, 13 OFWs were killed while 13 others were injured when the van they were riding collided with a truck on Nov. 16.
OWWA chief Rebecca Calzado said Kentz Engineers and Constructors, employer of the OFWs, extended assistance to the victims’ families.
