Murder raps eyed vs road rage suspect, brother
MANILA, Philippines - The Pasig City police is set to file murder charges against a suspect in the road rage killing of a deliveryman in Pasig City on Dec. 10 as well as the suspect’s brother, an official said yesterday.
Investigators are collating evidence against Tameme Mohammad, 18, and his older brother, Nor Faisal, 24, prior to filing charges with the city prosecutor’s office, Pasig police chief Senior Inspector Roberto Garcia said.
A witness said Nor punched the victim, Richard Tuazon, 37, before Tameme shot him with a .380 caliber pistol, he said.
“We have strong case against the Mohammad brothers,” Garcia said in an interview.
Eastern Police District director Chief Superintendent Elmer Jamias said while negotiations for the Mohammad brothers’ surrender are ongoing, tracker teams from the EPD and the Pasig police are hunting down the suspects.
It was Nor’s wife, Asinah Hajie Naem, 22, who identified Tameme as the gunman and her husband as the driver of the black Toyota Innova (APA 9824) that figured in a traffic row with the Mitsubishi L-300 driven by Tuazon atop the Rosario Bridge.
Naem said she was in the Innova and was trying to pacify her husband and brother-in-law when the shooting happened.
The Toyota Innova was registered under the name of Naem’s uncle, Ali Amer, but it was owned by the elder Mohammad and his wife, Jamias said.
