P.6-M goods seized in Binondo raid

MANILA, Philippines - At least P600,000 worth of undocumented personal hygiene products and other merchandise were seized during a raid on two warehouses and a store in Binondo, Manila yesterday.

Armed with a search warrant issued by Malabon Regional Trial Court Branch 170 Judge Zaldy Docena, police officers led by Manila Police District intelligence chief Senior Inspector Rizalino Ibay Jr. arrested Nina Ong, 45; Hung Ang, 50; and Tsun Ong, 38.

The warrant was issued against Josie Sy and a person identified only as “Angkong.”

He said the persons who were arrested failed to show Food and Drugs Administration accreditation and import permits.

The suspects were charged with violating Republic Act 7394, the consumer protection law.
