P.1-M reward up for killer of Pastillas Girl’s mother
MANILA, Philippines - The family of television and online personality Angelica Jane Yap, more popularly known as “Pastillas Girl,” has offered a P100,000 reward to anyone who can help police arrest the killer of her mother Teresa Hernandez.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) still has no leads on the killing of Hernandez, 43, a councilwoman of Barangay 127 in Caloocan City.
Hernandez was shot dead outside a canteen on Nov. 29.
A worker at the canteen said the gunman introduced himself as a police intelligence officer looking for drug pushers before killing the victim.
Yap earlier told the NBI her mother received death threats two days before she was killed.
The threats could be in the messages Hernandez received on her two mobile phones, which have been surrendered to the NBI.
The NBI said it may seek help from telecommunications firms to identify the senders of the text messages.
Aside from Yap, two other witnesses gave their statements to the NBI.
NBI agents handling the case are looking at a love triangle or an anti-drug campaign as possible motives for the killing.
