Manhunt on for cop in detainee’s rape

MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Police District has launched a manhunt for a policeman who allegedly raped a 21-year-old detainee in the MPD Station 4’s investigation room on Sunday, an official said yesterday.

Police Officer 2 Joel Agbulos of the station’s anti-drug unit was caught by another police officer, identified only as Dacanay, raping the detainee in the investigation section’s locker room at around 5 p.m, MPD general assignment and investigation section head Chief Inspector Arsenio Riparip said.

Agbulos arrested the detainee Sunday morning after her neighbor charged her with trespass to dwelling.

Dacanay reported the incident to Senior Inspector Joselito Ocampo, the station’s investigation chief, who ordered Agbulos’ arrest.

Agbulos escaped and remains at large.
