MANILA, Philippines – A construction worker and a jobless man were arrested for allegedly raping a 19-year-old scavenger and a four-year-old child in separate incidents last week, an official said yesterday.
Construction worker Benito Don, 52, was apprehended when a teenager with special needs identified him as the man who reportedly raped her, said Police Officer 1 Jackie Lynn Dimalibot of the Quezon City Police District.
The teenager told barangay officials in Krus na Ligas that Don raped her as she was scavenging at around 5 p.m. on Nov. 18.
Meanwhile Richmond Olino, of Barangay Botocan in Quezon City, was nabbed at his girlfriend’s house in Project 3 for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl on Nov. 17.
Dimalibot said Olino’s girlfriend would always ask the girl’s mother to have her child accompany her at their house. The alleged rape happened without the girlfriend’s knowledge, she added.
The girl’s mother sought police assistance after noticing that her child experienced pain when she relieved herself.
The girl identified the suspect, whom she called “Kuya Mon,” as the man who raped her.
