Revenge eyed in Caloocan slay
MANILA, Philippines - Police investigators are eyeing revenge in the killing of a 32-year-old man in Caloocan City early yesterday morning.
Gerry Soriano was drinking with his friends along Pama Sawata street in Barangay 28 when the assailant, a certain Empoy Santiago, arrived and shot him repeatedly at past 3 a.m., Chief Inspector Ilustre Mendoza, head of the Caloocan police investigation unit, said.
Police recovered three spent bullets at the scene.
Santiago wanted to get even with Soriano for the death of his brother about a week ago, police said.
Mendoza told The STAR that Santiago’s brother, Virgilio, was allegedly killed by Soriano’s brother.
A police team has been dispatched to hunt down Santiago.
