2 dead, 2 hurt in Caloocan, Quezon City attacks

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Two persons were killed and two others were wounded in two separate shootings in Caloocan and Quezon City on Wednesday.

Jail Officer 1 Marwan Christopher Arafat, 27, was on his way home on a motorcycle when two men on another motorcycle shot him along Tamban street in Barangay 19, Caloocan at past 6 p.m., Caloocan police investigation head Chief Inspector Ilustre Mendoza said.

As soon as Arafat fell to the pavement, the back rider shot him repeatedly.

Bystander Enerejo Silorico, 78, was in front of his house when he was hit by a stray bullet in the left shoulder. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

A source told The STAR Arafat may have earned the ire of a man serving time for illegal drugs “after he reportedly had an affair” with the inmate’s wife.

In Quezon City, tricycle driver Villy Ross Manlapaz, 23, was killed while his companion Charles Jacinto, 20, was wounded when unidentified assailants shot at them at around 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Biak na Bato and Dapitan streets, Police Officer 2 George Caculba said.
