Drone enters ‘No Fly Zone’

Jaime Laude - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The “No Fly Zone” being implemented during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit has been violated by a drone flyer twice yesterday.

Philippine Air Force spokesman Col. Enrico Canaya said there were sightings of remote-controlled drones hovering over Midas Hotel and Heritage Hotel along Roxas Boulevard in Manila.

Canaya said the operator of the remote-controlled gadgets was accosted by security forces for security breach.

“The public, particularly drone users, are reminded that drones are included in the prohibitions and No Fly Zone issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP),” Canaya said.
