MANILA, Philippines – At least five people died while four others were injured after a fire of still undetermined origin broke out at a residential area in Laong Laan, Caloocan City at past midnight yesterday.
The blaze started at around 12:28 a.m. and razed at least 30 houses, leaving more than 189 families homeless, Fire Officer 1 Edmar Daya said.
Five bodies were recovered while six people were reported missing before the fire was put out before 5 a.m., he added.
Daya said they have yet to determine the estimated damage caused by the fire.
