6 nabbed in Manila drug stings

MANILA, Philippines - Six alleged members of a drug gang were arrested in Pandacan, Manila Thursday night.

Theodoro Gonzales, 43; Federico Labao Jr., 26; and Erwin Francia, 34, were apprehended following a sting on Dapo street shortly before 11 p.m.

They were identified as members of the “Ron Ron Gang,” which operates in Pandacan and Paco, Manila Police District Station 10 commander Superintendent Edilberto Leonardo said.

Police recovered 16 grams of shabu and a .357 caliber pistol from Gonzales. 

A police officer, Samson Sision, was injured when residents tried to fend off the arresting officers.

Three other alleged gang members – Ferdinand Luna, 49; Mark Anthony Luna, 29; and Christopher Luna, 35 – were arrested in a sting on Beata street in Pandacan at around 2 p.m. Thursday.
