Most wanted drug suspect in Metro Manila falls
MANILA, Philippines - One of the most wanted drug suspects in Metro Manila was arrested in a sting in Caloocan City yesterday.
Gregorio Orayan, 39, did not resist arrest when operatives of the anti-drug unit of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) collared him at the corner of Avocado and Mangga streets in Barangay 178, Zone 15, District 1 at around 11:30 a.m.
NCRPO chief Director Joel Pagdilao said Orayan was listed as the sixth most wanted drug suspect in the metropolis.
He said the suspect yielded 22 packets of shabu and P10,000 in marked money.
“NCRPO men do not take a break even during All Saints’ Day to arrest wanted criminals,” Pagdilao said in an interview.
He said Orayan was the subject of a massive surveillance to neutralize his illegal activities.
With the help of an informant, a police team headed by Senior Inspector Edicio Llano of the NCRPO anti-drug unit arranged the purchase of P10,000 worth of shabu from Orayan.
Chief Inspector Roperto Razon of the NCRPO regional anti-drug division said Orayan has a pending warrant of arrest issued by the Caloocan City Regional Trial Court for drug charges.
