Quezon City fire leaves 30 families homeless

MANILA, Philippines - Thirty families were left homeless after a fire broke out at a two-story house in Commonwealth, Quezon City yesterday morning.

Fire marshal Jesus Fernandez said the blaze started at the house of Erlinda Baloso, 64, and spread to nearby shanties.

He said the fire destroyed 15 houses and damaged around P100,000 worth of properties before it was put out at around 6:35 p.m. 

No one was injured or killed during the incident. Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
